Arthur Fagen conducts in February the Württembergische Philharmonie and the Israel Beer Sheva Sinfonietta 

On February 18, Arthur Fagen conducted the Württembergische Philharmonie in a program which included the magnificent tone poem “Also sprach Zarathustra” as well as Korngold Violin Concerto performed by violinist, Hyeyoon Park and the Weill-Schönherr Suite from the “Threepenny Opera” (see reviews). Soon afterwards, Mr. Fagen flew to Israel to conduct the Beer Sheva Sinfonietta on February 23 and 25 in a program which opens with David Diamond’s “Rounds for String Orchestra” which he recently recorded for the Naxos label. Also on the program are Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations (soloist: Danielle Akta) and Haydn’s Symphony 103 “Drum Roll”.

Mr. Fagen has recently returned from Vienna where he recorded two CD’s with the Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester of the ORF in repertoire by Morton Gould, William Dawson Levi and Ulysses Kay.
