Never before presented in the southeast of the US, Wagner’s “Das Rheingold” was a resounding success for the Atlanta Opera, its Music Director Arthur Fagen, and its General and Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun. In this spirit, Mr. Fagen continues throughout next season, going on to inspire critics and audiences with “Die Lustige Witwe” in IU Opera Theater in September, concerts with the Beersheva Sinfonietta in October, “L’Elisir d’Amore” at the Opera de Bellas Artes, Mexico City in December, “Hebron” by Cristian Carrara, a world premiere at the Opera-Theatre Metz Metropol and at the Teatro Pavarotti in Modena in February 2024. Mr. Fagen is also invited to the Trentino Festival in Italy, in July 2024. Last but not least, Mr. Fagen is set to lead the Atlanta Opera Orchestra in Wagner’s Die Walküre, in April-May 2024, ending a very exciting season.
