ARTHUR FAGEN conducts world première at the Theatre of Saarbrucken
Arthur Fagen conducts the world première of Théodore Gouvy’s opera Le Cid at the Saarländischen Staatstheater in Germany, on 3 June. Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was born into a French speaking family in the Alsatian village of Goffontaine. Le Cid, Gouvy’s only main stage work, was accepted in Dresden in 1863, but it was never performed. The production features staging by Jetske Mijnssen and the performance will be broadcast onto the radio network European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the largest association of national broadcasters in the world.
