Virginia Arts Festival: Arthur Fagen presents an all-Mozart program with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra
Atlanta Opera’s successful production of Bizet’s Carmen last week has been acclaimed by critics and audience (see press reviews below). This week, Mr. Fagen conducts the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, in an all-Mozart program: a concerto for three pianos, a double concerto for two pianos, and Mozart’s final piano concerto, K. 595. Joining Mr. Fagen pianist André-Michel Schub, and the young rising star Dominic Cheli, with whom Mr. Fagen will also play in the triple concerto. This month the new Naxos recording of David Diamond’s Symphony n. 6 and Rounds for string orchestra was released earning outstanding reviews. Performance on May 11, 2018.
