MR. FAGEN CONDUCTS A NEW PRODUCTION OF PHILIP GLASS’ OPERA AKHNATEN
Based on the life and religious convictions of Pharaoh Akhnaten, Philip Glass’ opera has opened to an overwhelming public response when it was premiered in Atlanta under the baton of Arthur Fagen, in January 2009. The Atlanta Journal wrote then that it was the hottest ticket of the season, with sold out performances and great acclaim at evening’s end. This year, Mr. Fagen conducted again a new production of Akhnaten at the Indianapolis Opera in partnership with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, home of IU Opera Theater, earning once more outstanding reviews and unanimous applause and praise from audience (see press quotes).

Performances on February 22, 23, March 1, 8 and 9, 2013.
