Martinu’s Piano Concertos: Editor’s Choice of Gramophone Magazine
We are delighted to announce that the recent Naxos recording of Martinu’s Piano Concertos has been awarded an Editor’s Choice in the March 2010 issue of Gramophone Magazine. The three works for piano and orchestra on the awarded disc span twenty years of the Czech composer’s peripatetic career, from the Concertino to the Third and Fifth Piano Concertos.
Martinù was one of Czechoslovakia’s most prolific and varied composer with an impressive list of orchestral compositions including six symphonies and five piano concertos.
