Arthur Fagen has scored an enormous triumph in Atlanta where he has conducted Wagner’s Der Fliegende Hollaender the last week of April (see reviews). Soon after he traveled to South America where he conducted the oldest orchestra of Colombia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotà. Program included Schubert’s Symphony n. 9. On May 19 and 20 he has concerts in Italy with the Orchestra Haydn in Trento and Dobbiaco, with a program including Dvorak’s Biblische Lieder and Mendelssohn’s Symphony n. 5. The last week of May he will conclude with Naxos the recording of the complete piano concertos by Bohuslav Martinu.
